Tummy Tuck Minneapolis - St. Paul
Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty is a procedure to remove excess skin and fat, tighten the muscles, and remove stretch marks from the abdomen. Women who have had multiple pregnancies are frequently good candidates for this operation. In other instances, substantial weight loss may cause the abdominal skin to become flacid. Significant stretch marks in the abdominal skin are a telltale sign that the skin has stretched beyond it’s capacity to retract. In these cases, liposuction alone will not treat the problem. The excess skin and fat must be surgically removed.
Abdominoplasty can also tighten the abdominal muscles that have been separated or weakened by pregnancy; thereby narrowing the waistline. Tummy Tuck is frequently combined with liposuction to improve the overall sculpted appearance of the abdomen.

Patient Testimonial
Dear Dr. Hoffman and Staff
I just wanted to say “thank you” for the amazing care and treatment that you and your staff gave me during my preop and postop visits. The transformation of my body is nothing but positive. Never in my life has anyone ever used the word tiny to describe my body. I just wanted to cry when I heard that. But it also brought a great big smile to my face. Knowing, at that moment, that I made the best decision of my life, to have the surgery. I am getting married this year and because of the transformation of my body, I had to return my wedding dress and get a smaller size. I went from a size 10 to a size 6 in my waist and hips. It was such an incredible feeling when I tried on a smaller sized dress. I would highly recommend you to anyone who asks me who they should go to for a tummy tuck and liposuction. You are an incredible surgeon with a wonderful staff. Thank you Dr. Hoffman, Nica and Rissy.
Sincerely,
Kris J
Dr Hoffman’s Approach to Tummy Tuck
Tummy Tuck is a rewarding procedure for the woman and for me as a plastic surgeon. Refinements I have incorporated in my Tummy Tuck procedure over the years are designed to provide optimal results and give women a more youthful figure. For the past 14 years I have been combining Liposuction with Tummy Tuck, which dramatically enhances the cosmetic results. In some cases, a degree of thigh lifting is accomplished, which gives a youthful thigh contour as well. In May, 2011, at the annual meeting of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons in Boston, an emerging topic was “lipo-abdominoplasty, combining liposuction with tummy tuck to improve outcomes.” Many plastic surgeons are just beginning to combine these procedures.
Woman often find that a tummy tuck is a life-transforming procedure. The patients regain their tight tummy and nice waistline. They describe fitting comfortably into clothes that they have not been able to wear for years. Most women describe coming down several clothing sizes following the procedure.
Your Initial Visit
On the day of your personal consultation, Dr. Hoffman will discuss with you the indications for a tummy tuck. Pre and post-operative photographs of patients with similar body contours are shown with reference to your own shape. You are then examined to ensure that this procedure would be of benefit versus other alternatives such as liposuction. Once the decision is made to have the surgery, you are given instruction sheets outlining how to prepare for surgery, what to expect the day of surgery, and what to expect as you recover.
Your Tummy Tuck Procedure:
In Dr. Hoffman’s procedure, redundant skin is removed and the muscles are actually tightened to give the patient a shapely waist. A dramatic reduction in waist size and a more desirable figure is obtained immediately after surgery. The width of the bikini scar is dependent on the amount of skin removed. Frequently, liposuction is added to the procedure. This removes fat from the hip areas and can reduce the length of the incision. Tummy tuck can be combined with other procedures such as breast lift, breast augmentation, and liposuction of other areas such as the thighs and the back.
Am I a good candidate for Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)?
- Excess or sagging abdominal skin
- Significant stretch marks in the abdominal skin
- An abdomen that protrudes and is out of proportion to the rest of your body
- Abdominal muscles that have been separated and weakened (common following pregnancy)
- Excess fatty tissue concentrated in your abdomen
